Case 083

assigned

Report English

Normal articulation at the left knee joint. Evidence of a non-displaced fracture of the medial tibial plateau with a predominantly horizontal fracture line and a vertical component extending anteriorly to the anterior horn root of the medial meniscus (8/13 or 5/7). Adjacent bone bruise in the medial tibial plateau. Otherwise, no further bone marrow edema. The patella is centered while standing. With only minor superficial chondral lesions (e.g., 7/10). No deep chondropathy in the trochlea. Femoral-tibial cartilage coverage is preserved without deep chondropathy. The menisci are intact. Anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments are intact. Collateral ligaments are also intact. Mild irritation of the MCL at the tibial insertion. No joint effusion. Synovium is slender. No joint effusion. No increased fluid in the tendon sheaths. The included muscular and tendinous structures appear unremarkable. Slight fluid retention in the subcutis. Known from X-ray examination, osteopenic bone aspect with evidence of a non-displaced insufficiency fracture at the medial tibial plateau on the left with a vertical fracture extension to the anterior root of the medial meniscus. Adjacent corresponding bone bruise. No evidence of significant cartilage damage with at most retropatellar discrete superficial chondral lesions. Menisci and cruciate ligaments are intact. Mild irritation of the MCL. No joint effusion.
